Consulting or Appealing on a Planning Application

Your council should either notify your neighbours or put up a site notice on or near the site. We have provided some guidance for neighbours with information on how the council may consult on applications. In certain cases, applications are also advertised in the local newspaper.

Your council will also carry out consultations with other interested parties, such as the local town or parish councils or highways. Have a look at our consultation guidance notes for more information on how to have your say on planning applications. We have also included some Guidance notes for town and parish councils in respect of planning application notifications are also available.

You should also be able to use the the councils online planning system to consult on applications.

For information on how to appeal against an application, you can visit the Planning Inspectorate website or the Planning Portal for advice on how to place your appeal.
